Bit-life meets ChatGPT

whatever you think this is, it's worse

Today is Thursday, 9th of January 2025. I have a sore throat and I’m treating it by drinking lipton tea because I hate pills and warm lipton clears my throat. It’s 4:30pm and I’m eager to go home.

Why am I saying this? I’m not posting this today. I honestly don’t know when I will post this, I just know it will be after I drop its origin post on my other publication, so I could link everyone there and vice versa.

It’s giving big brain energy.

Who wants to guess what I did at work today?

I’ll tell you anyway.

I was scrolling ChatGPT and kicking my feet.

You might be wondering, what is so interesting about ChatGPT that I could be there for over five hours, well, ChatGPT wrote me a love story, which I sat and read.

I don’t think I’m clear enough. I’ll start from the beginning.

We all know I have another publication, Song Scenarios, which is actually my last born. I wrote a scene for a newsletter and I put the scene through ChatGPT to do a spell and continuity check and then asked it to tell me the personalities of the characters in the scene (you know, to see if the personalities I was going for are obvious). All this was yesterday. I finished the draft, closed my laptop, went home.

This morning in my infinite boredom and will to look like I was doing something important on my laptop, I opened Chatgpt and went to yesterday’s chat.

If you’ve seen the post, you know the characters, you know what I put in ChatGPT. If you haven’t the characters are Wyatt, Damiano and Terry, who are Wyatt’s best friends, Mariana, the girl Wyatt has a crush on, and Tate, Penelope, Amara and Janelle, Mariana’s friends.

The post ended with Wyatt saying something particularly risqué to Mariana after overhearing her conversation with Tate (if you want to know, go read it).

So, I went to GPT and asked it to write a scene with all these characters together. It was good, it wrote about a bake sale. I asked it to write another when the group hanging out with Wyatt and Mariana being together. It delivered. I asked for more. It delivered. I tweaked Damiano, Terry and Wyatt’s characters cause at some point GPT mixed it up, then I asked it who Damiano is most likely to date in the four girls. It said Amara or Janelle. I told GPT to make Damiano start developing a crush on Penelope.

This was just the tip of my world building.

Damiano is supposed to be a sarcastic, quiet, dry wit-humor type and Penelope, a say-it-like-it-is type. GPT slow-burns Damiano’s attraction. Only Wyatt and Mariana notice at first. Then in the next scene I made GPT write, they were alone.

Giving GPT liberty (I just kept typing ‘more’) was a very annoying thing because it turned the story into a slowburn. I asked GPT to make them kiss. It was anticlimactic. I asked GPT to make it better. Then Damiano and Penelope went through an arc of being vulnerable with each other and coming to terms that they actually had feelings for each other.

By the time I was okay with their story, they were at boyfriend girlfriend status and being equally sarcastic and teasing to their friends and each other during group hangouts.

Then I moved to Terry. I noticed GPT making him and Amara close during the group hangouts, so I made Terry have feelings for Amara. Then I made him confess. It was cute cause Terry is a person who always deflects with humor and Amara is a confident, kinda competitive person and she brings out the intensity in Terry.

At this point, I was swooning over them, but GPT did the confession scene dirty, so despite the fact I liked the pair, I had no swoon worthy scenes, and my inner watt-pad girlie was already in love with Damiano.

Tate and Janelle were the only two not paired up. I asked GPT to write a scene of then saying that all their friends are paired up and GPT wrote a whole ass love story for both of them.

And I ran with it. I made it a whole storyline. Tate and Janelle had to hang out on their own most times and after one group picnic when the other couples had gone separate ways, Janelle asked Tate if their relationship could be different in a very cryptic, hypothetical way. They skirted over their budding feelings cause they’re best friends but, in the end, during a girl’s night with all five girls, they confessed to each other.

I did an epilogue of all four couples. They were all happy.

Did it end there?

NO

I made a second gen. Asked GPT to make them parents.

• Wyatt and Mariana had two boys, Noah and Ethan. Noah was older by two years.

• Damiano and Penelope had a boy and a girl, Marco and Ariella who were apart by four years.

• Terry and Amara had a girl, Olivia.

• Tate and Janelle adopted twins, Leo and Lily.

All the names were courtesy of GPT.

Initially I made them hang out as kids but it was weird since they weren’t all the same age. Then I aged them up. Noah and Marco were 22 and best friends, Olivia and Ariella were 18 and best friends, Leo, Lily and Ethan were 20 and best friends.

This was the moment I decided to be a messy bitch, just for the fun of it.

Noah and Ariella first got together. They snuck around to make out. Then Marco caught them. Marco was PISSED. Marco stopped talking to them. It was a whole thing. Really went in depth into feelings. He yelled at Noah, barely talked to Ariella.

Every time, I typed more, it was still delicious tension, then I started wondering if GPT sef doesn’t forgive and forget. Ariella and Noah stood their ground in their relationship and continued seeing each other.

Then I added the variable of Marco sneaking around with Olivia. Marco then began to feel both guilt, understanding and lingering anger. He wanted to stop with Olivia, but my girl was bold and kept cornering him and he was unable to say no, anytime she approached him.

Then Ariella caught them.

You can imagine how that went down. Another argument. Marco apologizing. The siblings having heart to hearts, the best friends having heart to hearts, the parents analyzing the messiness and tension in their homes. I was doing it all.

Now while all these was happening, Marco hadn’t spoken to Olivia since they got caught, so, there was the whole begging arc too.

I finished with Marco and Olivia.

Then I took a deep breath and had the messiest idea.

What if Leo and Lily both had a crush on Ethan?

Trust your girl to execute it.

It started with Lily openly pining over Ethan and then Leo making some comments. Lily being so close to her brother realizes ‘oh, shit, you like him too’. GPT initially wanted to make them extra messy and fight for him, but that idea repulsed me, so I did the noble thing and let Leo back down.

Leo lies to Lily that he’s over Ethan and helps her get him cause Ethan is a little clueless when it comes to feelings. Ethan and Lily start dating.

That’s where my evil emoji comes out

Ethan noticed Leo barely hangs out with them anymore, talks to Leo about it one day while playing basketball. Leo says he just felt like a third wheel. Ethan says he’s talking rubbish. One thing leads to another and they kiss.

They both feel guilt over it, but they are both attracted to each other so they keep stealing away to make out. They say it’s the last time, but each time, it never is.

They got caught by Noah first (because in my opinion, Noah didn’t get enough screentime in the Marco-Ariella issue). Noah talks to Ethan who says he has feelings for both of them. Noah says its messy and he’ll have to stop or everyone gets hurt. Ethan says he’ll talk to Lily

Meanwhile, Lily confesses to Leo that she doesn’t feel anything romantically for Ethan anymore. Leo wants to tell her but doesn’t. He assures Lily instead, tells her to break it off but she’s afraid to hurt him.

Like moth drawn to flame, Ethan and Leo sneak off again. But this time Lily catches them mid-kiss.

Its rage and guilt central. Lily is not talking to anyone. Ethan pleads and begs but she breaks up with him and tells him to get the fuck out. Leo repeatedly comes around but after one too many times of pushing him away, she hears him out. She says she’ll consider forgiving him if he doesn’t talk to Ethan again.

He agrees, breaks it off with Ethan in the most emotional scene since I started GPT today. Ethan talks to Noah about everything, his parents overhear and they console him.

Few months pass. It’s water under the rug. Lily and Leo’s bond is fixed. Lily notices Leo has lost his shine. He’s just not genuinely happy anymore.

They run into Ethan and Noah at the bookstore, Lily notices the look on Leo’s face. A few days later, she goes to talk to Ethan. They reminisce their friendship, fix stuff, she says she’s forgiven him and that if he still has feelings for Leo, he can go for it. They end the conversation saying they would try to fix their previous friendship.

Then she talks to Leo. Gives him her blessing. After receiving assurance that she was completely okay with it, Leo goes to meet Ethan, and they get together.

The three hang out together and rebuild their lost friendship.

I wanted to end here but I felt bad for Lily. Then I made her run into a popstar. Like a Justin Bieber type. GPT gave me some fluff, and then I called it a day.

It was 3:30pm by this time. I had been on GPT since 11am.

I definitely plan to try this again and honestly, I recommend doing it. Just note

1. If you use the word confront, GPT takes it as an angry conversation, even when it’s not.

2. GPT has terrible memory after a few times saying “more”. The number of times I had to remind GPT who was who, pissed me off.

3. GPT sucks at continuity. but this is a minor issue. Like if A and B were fighting and they made up and in the next scene C and D talk, by the time I want to integrate A and B, GPT forgets they made up and they will still be fighting

4. Unless you explicitly ask for tension, GPT will give you a bland scene.

5. GPT is bad at context. Like really bad.

6. I was a Wattpad reader and was bored while doing this so if you know you have no patience, I don’t recommend doing this.

7. You will truly understand why people say AI lacks humanity and not to use AI to write

8. GPT isn’t very romantic. It does pining well, but love confessions? Poor.

9. GPT either paces really slow or too fast.

10. GPT isn’t human and doesn’t understand the complexity of feelings and morals so if you don’t tell it how to make them feel, it doesn’t infer

11. GPT likes garages for some reason. As long as it’s a guy, they’re in the garage.

12. Honestly boredom made me do this and it’s not lost on me that my favorite scenes were the toxic ones cause apparently GPT is really good with those.

Wyatt and Mariana were basically a couple when I started this, so they weren’t counted as a love story from GPT.

I hope by this, I have been able to show you that boredom will really make me read anything and that I’m truly the most creative when I’m bored.
