In this episode, I narrate the events of the book I read last week (Mon- Sun), which was the fourth book of the Windy City Series by Liz Tomforde, Play Along. Then I discuss my thoughts and personal review
Play Along is a love story between charming baseball star, Isaiah Rhodes, and his team’s athletic trainer, Kennedy Kay.
Kennedy is the only woman on the sports medicine team who, despite her medical credentials, is sidelined by a sexist lead doctor and desperate to secure her dream of becoming a head doctor elsewhere.
Isaiah—flirty, charismatic and open-hearted—has secretly nursed a crush on her for years.
A wild night in Las Vegas ends with Kennedy and Isaiah waking up married—Kennedy with no memory of it and both wearing rings. To protect Kennedy’s career, they decide to fake a deliberate elopement, agreeing to maintain the marriage through the baseball season
As the season unfolds, the faux marriage deepens into real love. Their banter, small gestures, and emotional support forge a bond built on mutual respect and trust.
Only one problem—Kennedy has a job offer in another city, and the deal was never supposed to last past the season.
This contains spoilers if you want to read the book but only the main parts because I brushed over a lot of minor details that legit make the book what it is (if I talked about everything, this would have been a lot longer).
